ANTH4329: Primate Ecology and Social Behavior

This course examines the evolution of social behavior in Primates, the order of mammals that includes humans. In this course we will examine how studies of the behavior and ecology of species in this diverse order have provided insights into the evolution of many traits, including: aggression, altruism, cooperation, mating systems, social bonds, group size and composition, intelligence, and culture. prereq: BIOL 1009 or 1951 or 3411 or ANTH 1001 or instr consent
