APEC8004: Applied Microeconomic Analysis of Social Choice and Welfare

The course provides a rigorous mathematical treatment of cost-benefit analysis in terms of the theory of how prices of goods and services are determined in competitive markets, and the implications of these prices on social welfare. It shows what happens to the prices of goods and services and social welfare when competitive markets fail.
