APEC8602: Applied Earth-Economy Modeling

Major issues and seminal literature in sustainability economics. Issues related to the global land-use change, climate change, ecosystem services, biodiversity loss and depletion of input resources. Analysis of the issue of efficient use of resources over time and under what conditions market equilibrium achieves an efficient outcome and intergenerational equity. We will also consider new research on global integrated assessment modeling and creation of earth-economy models. prereq: ApEc 8001, 8002, 8003 and 8004 (graduate level microeconomic theory) or equiv or instr consent
