CHLS1102: Americanos: U.S. Latino History, Politics, and Culture

This lecture course examines the historical and cultural knowledge and the complex relationship that Latinos have to the U.S. and their countries of origin in the Americas. We study the influence of social, cultural, and political dynamics on Latino history and sense of belonging in the U.S.A. By elevating American history and democracy, the course allows students to make connections to contemporary society.
