CMGT4022: Introduction to Construction Cost Estimating

This course focuses on the initial phases of the construction estimating process, from very early initial concept estimates through more detailed building systems estimates as the pre-construction process evolves through conceptual planning, schematic design, and design development. Students will learn both the art and science of assembling early estimates and also be introduced to fundamental concepts such as risk, productivity, overhead, profit, value analysis, and life cycle cost analysis. prereq: CMGT 3001W, 3011. For the Real Estate Development and Management cert/minor, only CMGT 3011 is required (3001W is recommended).
