Stuck between the iconic 1960s and the flashy 1980s, the 1970s—for a long time by historians—were thought of as the decade where nothing happened. However, is that really the case? The 1970s have turned out to be an ever more important decade to examine, research, and think about. The previously declared “stagnant” decade has been the subject of newfound attention and together we will immerse ourselves in the music, politics, technology, and issues of the time to discover exactly how disco came to dominate the music charts, how people lost hope in the political system, how civil rights activists continued the quest for equality, and how folks did their best to stay alive in a very confusing decade.
