JPN1012: Beginning Japanese II

This course is the second of a two-semester sequence of Beginning Japanese. It aims to begin the development of communication skills in Japanese to the Novice High level of the guidelines set by ACTFL. Therefore, students will continue learning the four skills of language (speaking, listening, reading, and writing) as well as culture-specific skills (dos and don'ts). It is expected that, by the end of this semester, students will be able to talk about family and friends, describe health concerns, and so on. Students also will be able to read and write short paragraphs, such as a letter or a report. To facilitate literacy, students will learn about 90 additional kanji (about 150 in total including those learned in JPN1011).  prereq: JPN1011 or instr consent
