Continuation of Latin 1001. The Latin introductory sequence (1001/1002) builds a strong foundation in grammar and vocabulary to prepare you for reading authentic historical texts. In LAT 1002, you'll tackle more complex constructions?participles, subordinate clauses, indirect discourse?and begin reading adapted selections from ancient authors. This essential ancient language opens the door to a wide range of classical, medieval, and Renaissance literature.
Undergraduate students should enroll in LAT 1002, and graduate students should enroll in LAT 4002 for graduate credit.
prereq: Grade of at least C- or S in LAT 1001 or instructor consent.
