MONT1001: Beginning French I

4-6 Credits

This is a beginning-level French course that will develop the four language skills (reading, oral comprehension, writing, and speaking). MONT 1001 is designed for students with little or no knowledge of the French language. In this course, students will build skills for meaningful communication in French, develop their understanding of Francophone cultures, and reflect on their learning by participating in local cultural activities linked to themes and grammar points studied in the classroom. Each week, students will have opportunities for experiential learning through diverse activities/visits that will encourage them to exchange/communicate with the community aiming at opening the doorway for them to become global citizens.
