PHCL8200: SciComm I: Critical Analysis & Publishing

The mission of the course is to increase the students’ ability to critically evaluate and comprehend the scientific literature, properly present scientific literature/figures, and critique presentations related to the field of pharmacology. After the course is completed, the students will be able to understand and differentiate the six components of a scientific paper, quickly identify the hypothesis and objective of a scientific paper, recognize the key figure(s), with controls, that support the hypothesis, how to present scientific data, how to submit journal articles and navigate the submission and publication process, and critique presentations.
