PT6280: Clinical Assessment

This lab-based course for DPT students is designed to provide an active learning environment where you will learn foundational critical thinking and hands-on skills necessary on your path to becoming a clinician. We will work together to develop your clinician skill-set in the areas of; ? Safe hands-on patient care ? Clinical problem-solving ? Communication and professionalism ? Compassionate and effective delivery of physical therapy services This course instructs the examination of neuromusculoskeletal function, cardiovascular and pulmonary function, and additional selected areas of patient care. Examination includes manual and quantitative muscle testing, active and passive range of motion assessment, anthropometric measures, sensory testing, gait and postural observation, and additional physical examination skills. Additional Clinical Assessment areas include aseptic techniques, positioning, and functional mobility with and without assistive devices. prereq: Registered PT student
