TH1301: Acting/Non-Majors

3 Credits

Have you ever wondered how actors learn all those lines? Or if you could convincingly perform a character that doesn’t have your values or beliefs? In Acting for Non-Majors, you’ll be able to safely explore these questions and you don’t need to have any prior acting/stage experience. You’ll develop a vocabulary for discussing theater and recognize how studying acting can form new perceptions about yourself and others. You’ll be given opportunities to experiment with a variety of acting techniques and styles through exercises, readings, writings, rehearsals, and performances. After completing this course you’ll be amazed by what you’ve accomplished. Could the acting bug bite you? You never know until you try.
