BIOL1806: Nature of Life, Part Two

Nature of Life is a three-semester course series (BIOL 1805, 1806 and 1807) that aims to help CBS students build community, connect to resources, and cultivate essential skills and habits of mind to foster their academic and future success. BIOL 1806, the second course in the series, extends on the topics and activities of the first semester and features a semester-long group project called "Biology Saves The World." BIOL 1806 is a one semester, one credit lecture course designed to meet a variety of student needs as they are introduced to the University of Minnesota and the College of Biological Sciences. Using reflection of students’ backgrounds and values as well as research into the new communities they join, students will explore various campus opportunities, learn new knowledge about the scientific community, and develop skills needed to be successful in CBS via projects and activities with their CBS community.
