BIOL1901: ScienceSpeak: Communicating Science in Daily Life

1 Credit

How could we communicate science better in daily life? This seminar is designed for students to learn effective practices to have “better” conversations about science in their professional and personal lives. Within class, we’ll discuss current scientific topics as shared in popular media, as well as the challenges facing scientists, in particular with disputed ideas! The point is not to become an expert on any scientific topic but rather to support future scientific leaders so they can effectively share scientific knowledge and have meaningful conversations about science with those in their daily lives.
