LAW6031: Twin Cities Regional Planning in the National Context

This class examines emerging legal strategies to address the fiscal, environmental, and social impacts of unrestrained metropolitan regional growth ("urban sprawl"). Topics include: inequalities in access to housing, jobs, and educational opportunities; local fiscal competition; local, state, and regional regulatory responses to metropolitan development; environmental impacts of metropolitan development; and evolving legal structure of regional governance in America's large metropolitan areas.
