TH3381: Theater Storytelling

3 Credits

From The Diary of Anne Frank to The Laramie Project and from Evita to Amadeus, many of the most powerful plays ever produced are based on true stories and real people. Is there a historical figure or moment you think is ripe for the limelight? Does your own family history contain a fascinating person or story? Maybe you even have a powerful story about your own life that you feel would make a great performance? Theatre Storytelling gives you the tools to research, write, and share real stories in the form of new short plays. The class includes hands-on activities for teaching interview techniques, researching methods, writing prompts, and supporting other creators in the class. You will emerge with a brand-new ten-minute play or performance about a real story from your life, your family, or our collective human story. We all have stories. Come tell yours!
